Incorporation: We incorporate churches, ministries, charities, private foundations, endowments, charitable organizations, title holding companies, and schools. We can provide these services in any state.
501(c)(3): We apply for 501(c)(3) federal income tax exemption and communicate with the IRS on your behalf, so you don't have to.
Legal reviews: We can perform a comprehensive legal review of your church or ministry and prepare a written legal opinion pinpointing liability risks, violations of the law, and recommendations for corrective measures.
Trademarks: We can advise you regarding trademark disputes, and we can register your name, logo, or slogan as a state or federal trademark.
Bylaws: We can prepare new bylaws from scratch or amend your existing set to address important issues, including pastor removal, pastor succession, member voting or lack thereof, disciplinary measures against members, and pastor authority with respect to election and removal of officers and directors.
Name changes: We can change the name of your church or ministry or add a new name (fictitious name), regardless of which state your organization is located.
Domain disputes: We can assist in forcing Internet pirates to transfer control of a domain name to its proper owner.
Contracts: We can prepare or review contracts of all kinds, such as leases, mortgages, purchase agreements, employment agreements, construction agreements, etc.
UBIT: We counsel clients regarding the tax on unrelated business income (UBIT) and means of avoiding it.
Compensation reviews: We analyze pastor compensation and issue opinion letters regarding permissible amounts of "reasonable compensation";
Employment issues: We advise regarding employment and personnel issues, and draft and review employment manuals, applications, and policies;
Liability: We counsel clients regarding liability issues and measures to reduce liability exposure, including policies and procedures;

What We Believe

We BELIEVE that churches and ministries have unique legal needs. Therefore, they require an attorney with unique experience and knowledge in the field of church and ministry law and the rules applicable to 501(c)(3) organizations. We also believe that churches and ministries benefit by having a Christian attorney who not only understands the church world but also unashamedly shares his clients' Christian world view.

Our Objective

Our OBJECTIVE is to serve our clients quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. This means responding to clients' calls and emails within 24 hours when at all possible; completing client projects promptly and keeping clients updated regarding the status of their work; providing concise and understandable answers to client's questions; alerting clients to liability and compliance risks involved in proposed transactions; alerting clients to expected costs of work so that clients are not "blindsided" by fees; and charging fees which are fair and reasonable given the size of the job.
